RED BULL’S GEARBOX CASING
Max Verstappen’s Sunday afternoon at COTA was curtailed following a problem with his gearbox. The latter slots into a carbon casing, which is cut out to let the turbocharger and exhaust pipes through, while also housing the mounting points for the rear wishbones, rear crash structure, and rear damper units.
Also affixed to the casing is the component stepping over the exhaust and wastegate pipes and on top of which is bolted the rear wing central pillar.
