Rosberg is essentially a victim of his own success in these rankings this season, as the world champion only gained the fourth highest average. Having the quickest car on the grid and few major reliability problems means he was rarely overextended, driving within himself whenever team-mate Hamilton was not in the frame. Took his opportunities when they came and still delivered some world class drives - such as his victory in Singapore - while his ability to deliver under pressure in Japan as the title neared was also very impressive. The odd very poor race such as Monaco or Germany hurt his average, as the way he tightened up across the final four rounds also did.
