Inside Toro Rosso’s S-duct

Just like its predecessor, the Toro Rosso STR12 has two NACA inlets located under nose in order to feed air for the car’s ‘S’-duct system.

The image above gives the opportunity to visualise the rectangular-shaped end of the duct inside the nosecone, as well as how it connects to the pipe located on the front bulkhead.

The ‘S’ duct cleans and speeds up the airflow over and under nose in order to prevent as much as possible having slow air on the car’s nosecone, ahead of the driver.
