Nico Rosberg has been reprimanded for incorrectly entering the pit lane during first practice for the Spanish Grand Prix.
Having been due to pit, Rosberg made an error at the end of his lap and ran wide entering the chicane. When attempting to pit, Rosberg left his entry later than usual and had to cross over the white line beyond a bollard at the start of the pit lane.
Rosberg was investigated for the incident during the first practice session - which he went on to finish quickest in - and the stewards later handed him his first reprimand of the season. In handing out the punishment, the stewards explained all the drivers were made aware of the bollard prior to the race weekend.
"The driver crossed the line separating the pit entry from the track and did not stay to the right of the bollard, as required in the Race Director's Event Notes (item 6.2)."
If a driver reaches three reprimands in a season they will receive an automatic ten place grid penalty.
