Monaco - Light at the end of the tunnel
The fact that Monaco has survived the test of time as a genuine F1 track is in itself a testimony to its importance to the sport. The venue also offers photographers the most amazing back drop and environment of any Grand Prix circuit.
"I love the old historic or untypical tracks," admits Charniaux. "They have a scenery that many seek out. The new circuits that have popped out of the ground are state of the art, but they all look the same. They lack character and soul. Tracks like Spa, Monza or Montreal, and even Silverstone, are among my favourites.
"However, street circuits such as Monaco, Bakou or Melbourne are great photographic venues. The same goes for the night races such as Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Singapore."
