Three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is getting his own signature energy drink, courtesy of an endorsement deal with Mercedes sponsor Monster Energy.

Hamilton tweeted a tease of the new drink which will be launched in the near future.

"I’m super excited to announce that I’m going to be partnering with Monster Energy and working with them to bring out my own drink, which is something I’ve wanted to do since we began working together years ago." said Lewis Hamilton.

“Monster Energy is such a cool brand. They are involved in so many great sports that I watch as a fan and participate in during my own spare time.

"It’s also a really exciting opportunity for me to meet and collaborate with other Monster athletes I admire. There are exciting times ahead."

Formula 1 currently showcases three energy drink companies with Red Bull, Hype and Monster.

At F1i, we are ourselves all stocked up on Hype, our energy drink of choice!

He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing.
