Rosberg raises money for charity with iconic shot

A dramatic shot of Nico Rosberg's Mercedes racing through the Degner curves at Suzuka last year has prompted the reigning world champion to sell signed prints of the moment for charity.

The picture depicts Rosberg's W07 on full load during last year's Japanese Grand Prix and has generated a huge buzz within the F1 community which has praised the striking photograph.

"It is seldom that you see the forces in an F1 car so clearly on a photograph," Rosberg said at the time.

"It was a special capture - very impressive. Even the tyre was deforming and everything. It was amazing - and it was a normal lap.

"It wasn't like something specific happened - it was just like a normal lap."

At Rosberg's request, the author of the work, photographer Peter Fox, has made available a limited edition run of A2 prints, signed by the world champion with a certificate of authenticity.

A share of the proceeds from the sale will go to two charities chosen by Rosberg,  Viva Con Agua, which helps provide drinking water and basic sanitation for the world's poor, and Water Aid.

Further details of the Rosberg print can be found at peterjfox.com or email directly at peter@peterjfox.com.

Phillip van Osten

Motor racing was a backdrop from the outset in Phillip van Osten's life. Born in Southern California, Phillip grew up with the sights and sounds of fast cars thanks to his father, Dick van Osten, an editor and writer for Auto Speed and Sport and Motor Trend. Phillip's passion for racing grew even more when his family moved to Europe and he became acquainted with the extraordinary world of Grand Prix racing. He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
