As anticipated last weekend in Spain, Pirelli has not included its hard compound in its tyre selection for the British Grand Prix scheduled mid-July.
The compound was included last weekend in Spain but apart from the odd installation lap the tyre was hardly used.
The Silverstone selection will be comprised of the red SuperSoft, the yellow Soft and the white medium tyre.
In the past, the hard compound has typically been used in Malaysia, Japan and Brazil.
"We are planning to use the hard in Suzuka," said Pirelli racing manager Mario Isola.
"The other high severity circuit was Sepang, but last year with the new surface Sepang was less abrasive."
