Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will get an extra boost of energy at the British Grand Prix, where the Scuderia is set to inroduce an engine upgrade.

According to journalist James Allen, the Scuderia pair will enjoy the benefit of extra power at the high speed track with the latest version of its power unit.

It will be the third engine of the season, Vettel having changed his unit last weekend in Baku when the team detected a coolant leak before qualifying.

The Scuderia reverted back to the original race engine from earlier in the season the changed unit has been returned to Maranello for further inspection and servicing before it is reinstalled for Austria next week.

The engine upgrade set for Silverstone will also likely take into account the FIA's latest technical directive which addresses, and restricts, the process involving burning oil for fuel, a ploy which generates an extra dose of power.

All in all, an engine upgrade coupled with the aerodynamic efficiency of Ferrari's SF70H chassis on high-speed tracks should nicely boost the Italian squad's prospects and induce another thrilling Ferrari-Mercedes battle.
