One week after securing his first podium in Austria, Giuliano Alesi collected his maiden win in the GP3 series race on Sunday at Silverstone.
The French hopeful, whose father, former Scuderia stalwart Jean Alesi, was on hand to support his son, along with a multitude of Ferrari personnel, resisted race-long pressure from Jack Aitken.
Pole sitter Dorian Boccolacci failed to take up his position at the head of the grid, leaving Alesi alone at the front to take command when the lights went out and never look back despite Aitken snapping at his heels.
Needless to say, the Alesi father and son combo was ecstatic at the end of the race. Even Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene came over to enjoy the podium ceremony.
