Raikkonen sets the pace, Alonso crashes, Kubica puts in the laps

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen put himself at the top of the timesheet at lunchtime on Day 1 of the Pirelli tyre test in Abu Dhabi.

The Finn clocked in with 48 laps and almost 1.5s clear of Haas' Romain Grosjean who set the second fastest time.

All eyes were on Robert Kubica however, the Pole driving Williams' FW40 new-spec car for the first time, and putting 58 laps under his belt without any issues. Kubica's best lap was good for P6.

Fernando Alonso was also in action but the Spaniard spun out in the final sector and into the barriers, damaging his McLaren and interrupting the session.
