Haas' Kevin Magnussen took advantage of the off-season to relocate from Denmark, his home country, to sunny Dubai.

The well advised 25-year-old will no doubt appreciate the expatriate life in the luxurious emirate, for the short time he'll be spending there over the course of the year, as well as its massive tax advantages.

"I have an apartment in the area called Dubai Marina, which is near the international airport," Magnussen said.

"Dubai is far more central than Copenhagen when you look at the F1 calendar.

"I can save a lot of travel days by living in Dubai that I can use for training. And the weather is similar to the temperatures of many F1 races.

"So it's something that hopefully will make me a better driver," he added.

Magnussen will likely cross paths with McLaren's Fernando Alonso, whose been a Dubai resident for some time now.

The Dane also said that his new personal trainer will be joining him in the UAE, but girlfriend Louise will be remaining in Denmark.

"We are still together but we did not live together in Copenhagen," he explained. "She must take care of her job, so she will stay in Denmark for now."
