A fan spectating at last weekend's Spa 6 Hours captured the horrific moment Russian driver Matevos Isaakyan went airborne at Eau Rouge in his SMP Racing BR1 LMP1 car.
Highlights form last Saturday's first round of the World Endurance Championship only caught the aftermath of the terrifying crash which happened at the top of the treacherous uphill corner.
However, the amateur trackside footage offers some insight into what actually happened, showing Isaakyan clearly off the racing line, on the far left of the corner, running over the white painted rumble strips, as the car gets airborne and takes off for a harrowing series of backflips!
Fortunately, the young Russian emerged unscathed from the destroyed car, but the incident was the second high-speed crash of the Spa weekend involving the Dallara-built BR1.
In qualifying, DragonSpeed's Pietro Fittipaldi lost control while running through Eau Rouge, colliding with the barriers and suffering fractures to both legs.
Check out the video of Isaakyan's terrifying flight.
