Marquez gets a chance to straddle an F1 Red Bull!

Red Bull will give MotoGP champion Marc Marquez an opportunity to showcase his skills behind the wheel of an F1 car at an upcoming test scheduled in Austria next month.

Following in the footsteps of Valentino Rossi, who tested for Ferrari several times back in 2016, the Spaniard rider will likely try his hand at F1 with an old-spec V8-powered car.

In addition to Marquez, his Honda team mate Dani Pedrosa as well as nine-time Motocross world champion Tony Cairoli will also be awarded laps at the private test which will take place at the Red Bull Ring.

All three riders will enjoy a seat fitting at Red Bull Racing's base at Milton Keynes in the coming days.

In 2016, triple MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo realized his childhood dream when he drove a 2014 Mercedes W05 hybrid car at Silverstone, courtesy of energy drink sponsor Monster Energy.
