It started as a normal day for Billy Monger but ended as a memorable one, with the young British F3 driver, who lost his legs in a horrific crash at Donington last year, sampling an F1 car!
Monger was brought to Rockingham where a 2011 Sauber C30 equipped with special controls, awaited the 19-year-old. The test was arranged by historic F1 broker Heritage F1.
A seat fitting was followed by Mongers' first laps behind the wheel of the car previously raced by Sergio Perez, Kamui Kobayashi and Pedro de la Rosa.
Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert was present to dispense some advice to Monger, and Sky Sports F1 will be running a feature on the young man's test.
