Raikkonen not 'happy to comment' on McLaren rumors

Kimi Raikkonen made good use of his typical stiff lips to elude any questions about his future, and the eventuality of racing on in F1 next season with McLaren.

The Woking-based outfit is rumored to be interested in the Finn should Fernando Alonso decide to leave Grand Prix racing behind in 2019 and move on to hopefully greener pastures.

Raikkonen was unwilling to offer any insight on the alleged talks, or indeed even acknowledge their existence.

"I don't know really, I said in 2007 I wanted to finish with Ferrari and at some point it didn't look like that – now it looks like that again," said the 38-year-old.

"You never know what comes after this and that. We'll see. As always, a lot of talk, and I'm not really happy to comment."

Queried on whether he had any contact with McLaren, the Iceman delivered a sarcastic response.

"I spoke to them for sure, but in the past a lot when I used to be there," he said.

"Like I said I have zero interest to get involved in all the nonsense in my view."

"You would like to know. I don't think you ask our opinions for a lot of stuff you guys write, so it goes either way – you can put yes or no.

"You usually write what you decide yourselves is true."
