Gasly unhappy with overly-aggressive Alonso antics

After Kevin Magnussen, it looks like another driver on the grid is looking forward to Fernando Alonso's retirement from F1.

The McLaren driver clashed with Magnussen in Saturday's qualifying session, a spat that led to an exchange of a few mutual opinions by the two men, with the Dane expressing his delight to see the Spaniard depart F1 at the end of the current season.

On Sunday, the McLaren driver invoked the ire of Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly after the pair sparred in the opening laps of the Italian Grand Prix, with the Frenchman accusing his opponent of being too aggressive.

On the restart after the Safety Car period, as they barreled down to the first chicane, Gasly was squeezed on the outside by an uncompromising and tough Alonso.

"I was outside and he squeezed me off the track," said Gasly. "I went on the kerb but he touched my car which damaged it.

"I don't think it's right, drivers need to leave some room for their opponents."

According to Gasly, Alonso's retirement from F1 is impacting his driving,

"He knows that he's not in Formula 1 next year, so he behaves more aggressively than usual," contends the 22-year-old.

"I also know he doesn't like our team because we use Honda engines, but it's no way to behave," he added.
