Haas F1 Team's appeal against Romain Grosjean's exclusion from the Italian Grand Prix will be heard on November 1, it's been confirmed.
Grosjean finished the race in sixth place, but was subsequently excluded fromt he results after a protest from the Renault team regarding the legality of the floor on the VF-18 that was used at Monza.
On the day, race stewards ruled that the team had breached article 3.7.1d of the sport's Technical Regulations, focusing on the radius of the leading corners of the floor’s reference plane.
The exclusion cost Haas eight points and means that it now trails Renault in the battle between the two teams for fourth place in the constructors championship.
The race took place on September 2, and Haas lodged an appeal against their exclusion later the same week. The FIA Court of Appeal in Paris has now confirmed that the case will be heard on the first day of November.
That is the week following the Mexico Grand Prix, and before F1 heads to Brazil for the penultimate race of the season.
Steiner has already said that he wasn't sure how the case would go and has declared that it was "50-50" in terms of the outcome.
“We have no control on the decision," he said. "You can do the best you can with your lawyers and your technical people to explain what actually happened, the whole process and why we ended up where we were and why they got it wrong.
"But then again I’m not on the Court of Appeal. I cannot decide, so I would say 50-50 - it could go both ways.
"What we did was appeal and then followed up on that appeal, because first you do an intent of appeal and then you do an appeal that you have to prepare for."
Steiner added that he felt the stewards had not understood the team's case on the day against exclusion.
"We are getting prepared for that based on what we think was not correct in disqualifying us," he said.
"I don’t want to go into technicalities because it will have less effect in the Court of Appeal if play it out here.”
