Hulkenberg's priceless reaction to Ricciardo's move to Renault

Nico Hulkenberg offered fans a tongue-and-cheek response when asked how he reacted to the news of Daniel Ricciardo's move to Renault for 2019.

Last summer, after months of speculation about his future, and a general expectation that he would renew his contract with Red Bull Racing, Ricciardo's took the surprising decision to leave Milton Keynes and head to Enstone for a bold new challenge with Renault.

Many believe the Aussie will be a thorn in Nico Hulkenberg's side next season, but the German driver appeared to have no reservations whatsoever about racing alongside his new team mate, when queried on the subject by fans during a Q&A.

"I was devastated, I was on the floor, I was crying. it really hit me hard…" joked Hulkenberg.

"No, I was okay with it," he added more seriously.

"I got a phone call the day before, it was good news."
