Take an aerial trip around the new and improved Zandvoort

In normal circumstances, Zandvoort would be bustling with activity on this day, with the circuit preparing for F1's upcoming return to the legendary Dutch track.

The sudden onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic which has brought the world to a standstill has wreaked havoc on the sport's schedule, with nine races postponed or cancelled so far and a few more delays likely to come.

Zandvoort's Dutch Grand Prix promoters moved heaven and earth - the latter quite literally - to secure their race's spot on the 2020 calendar.

The seas-side circuit received a partial make-over while its infrastructure was also updated to F1 standards. The 12-month work in progress has been completed, and all the venue needs is a new date confirming F1 long-awaited return.

While F1's director of motorsport Ross Brawn has hinted at the sport launching its 2020 behind closed doors, Dutch GP boss Jan Lammers insists a race with no fans at Zandvoort is an "unthinkable scenario" as far as he is concerned.

Whether F1's return to Holland's dunes is delayed until later this summer or postponed until next year is a question that will likely linger for another month of two.

In the interim, check out an interesting aerial view of Zandvoort's revamped site and layout, which left us crossing our fingers that F1 will be racing there sooner rather than later.
