Hamilton rubbishes report of 'dream dash' to Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton has set the record straight, again, regarding his future, insisting he's not trying to "move away' from Mercedes, his current dream team, and join Ferrari.

The six-time world champion responded on Instagram - in a post which has since been deleted - to an inference by the The Sun's Ben Hunt who stated that Sebastian Vettel's desire to race on at the Scuderia squashes a "mega-money" move from Hamilton.

Both Hamilton and Vettel are in the final year of their respective deals with their team. The German driver's future at Maranello looked uncertain up until recently, with reports suggesting team boss Mattia Binotto has tabled a 'take it or leave it' offer to Vettel.

Over at Mercedes, both Hamilton and team boss Toto Wolff have expressed their will to extend their successful partnership, but the rumors of a move by the Britain to the Italian outfit are still at the forefront of F1's silly season.

Again, Hamilton denied a dramatic turn of events was in the works.

"First off, there is no dream of a dash to another team. I am with my dream team," the 34-year-old told his fans on Instagram.

"Second, there's not a thing in my way as I’m not trying to move. I’m with the people who have cared from day 1. We are the best team!"

In a video conference with selected media last week, Vettel said that he would likely decide his future before the first race of the disrupted 2020 season takes place.

"There’s a high chance that we will have to make a decision before there will be the first race, because at the moment it looks like there will be no race before June or even July," he said.

"So I think we are all waiting,"
