Gasly reveals winning helmet design for opening GP

AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly has unveiled the winning helmet design that he will wear for Formula 1's opening race of the 2020 season.

The Frenchman set up a design competition earlier his year, soliciting the creative talent of his fans to produce the colorful new lid, with the work of artist Laura Itzel Estrada getting Gasly's top vote.

"Here it is! Thanks @LitzelArt for your design. This is the helmet I’ll wear for the first race of the season. I wanted to go for something quite different and new," wrote Gasly.

"Thanks for all your designs, so many were amazing, and I’ll use some of your ideas for the rest of the year!"

And indeed, Gasly will be allowed to change his helmet design at will this year following the FIA's decision to rescind the rule that limited drivers to just a single design change during the season.
