It's a garage sale of a different sort but Sebastian Vettel is parting with eight cars from his personal supercar collection, with five Ferraris among the spectacular selection.
The four-time world champion has picked up a number of gems over the course of his career, including a former Ayrton Senna McLaren and Nigel Mansell's championship winning Williams FW43.
But the German driver's garage also housed an impressive assortment of supercars, eight of which have been entrusted to special automobile dealer Tom Hartley Jnr. In the UK.
"We are very pleased to be able to share with you some of our latest arrivals, all coming direct from the collection of four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel," Hartley commented on social media "All these cars are located, registered and taxes paid in Switzerland."
Three of the Ferraris in Vettel's collection were spec cars ordered during the German's tenure with the Italian outfit. Two of the cars - a 1996 Ferrari F50 and a 2016 Ferrari LaFerrari - have already been sold.
Vettel, who leads a very private life in Switzerland outside of Formula 1's limelight, has not gone on record to explain why he has put the cars up for sale.
Perhaps the Aston Martin F1 driver believes that hoarding the collection of gas-guzzlers no longer made sense in light of efforts to try and reduce one's carbon footprint.
Vettel's new team said that it had not made any requests for its driver to put the cars on the market.
"We have no knowledge of Sebastian's plans with regard to his car collection and have made no stipulations or requests of any kind in connection with it," said an Aston Martin F1 spokesperson.
