Sebastian Vettel will pay a visit to the Bahrain GP stewards on Sunday to explain an alleged double yellow flags breach during qualifying on Saturday.
Vettel failed to make the Q2 cut after falling victim in Q3 to two yellow flag deployments that forced him to abort his final hot lap.
However, on Saturday evening, the German driver was summoned to the stewards' office, along with Esteban Ocon, George Russell and Lance Stroll, for "allegedly non-respecting double yellow flags at Turn 1."
The four drivers had been previously cleared of any wrongdoing at Turn 8, where Carlos Sainz's Ferrari was momentarily stationary which justified the yellow flag deployment.
But the stewards are now taking a closer look at the first yellow flag incident that was triggered by a spin at Turn 1 of Haas' Nikita Mazepin.
The hearing is set to take place mid-day on Sunday. The outcome could further complicate matters for Vettel who is scheduled to line up P18 on Sunday's grid but who could be demoted another two spots of his actions were found in breach of the sporting regulations.
