McLaren Racing boss Zak Brown will unfortunately witness this weekend's British Grand Prix on TV, from the confines of his home after the American tested positive for Covid-19.
McLaren issued a statement in which it announced that three team members, including Brown had tested positive for the coronavirus "during the team’s rigorous testing programme before the British Grand Prix. Neither of our drivers are close contacts".
"All three cases are unconnected and now isolating in accordance with government guidelines," stated McLaren. "The team’s operations for the British Grand Prix are unaffected."
While the team's operations won't be impacted, Brown's absence from McLaren's home race is obviously untimely, with the American now unable to conduct any business at Silverstone over the weekend, or much less support the Woking-based outfit's efforts on site.
Furthermore, Brown was also due to run some demo laps this weekend onboard Mario Andretti's championship winning Lotus 79 during the 'Historic Cars – 70th Anniversary Demonstration' events scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.
