Williams boss Jost Capito chose to have dinner with the wrong man on Friday evening at Zandvoort, namely Kimi Raikkonen.
The Alfa Romeo driver tested positive on Saturday morning for Covid-19 which has sidelined the Finn for the remainder of the race weekend at Zandvoort.
The Finn's contacts in the past few days were all traced and accounted for, including Capito who was in close contact with Raikkonen on Friday evening when the two dined together.
"Following Kimi Raikkonen's positive COVID-19 test announced this morning, Williams Racing can confirm that Jost Capito will not enter the F1 paddock for the remainder of the Dutch GP," read a statement from Williams.
"Jost met with Kimi yesterday but in a socially distanced manner and while he is therefore not a close contact and has been retested with a negative result, Jost and Williams have taken the decision as a precautionary measure to mitigate any potential risk to the team."
Capito will likely undergo successive PCR tests in the coming days to monitor his status and to allow him to return to the team for next week's Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Raikkonen's seat at Alfa Romeo Racing has been taken by reserve driver Robert Kubica for the remainder of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend.
