Ferrari will unveil its 2022 prancing horse, the car it hopes will take it back to the winner's circle this year, in just one month, on February 17.

The Scuderia is expected to pull the covers off its all-new charger during an online live presentation from a venue it has yet to announce.

The Italian outfit returned to the podium last season when it finished third in the Constructors' standings. Although it ambitions to restore its former luster with the reset of Formula 1's technical regulations, a title could be hard to come by in 2022.

But race wins are definitely on Ferrari's agenda.

"The new regulations are a clear opportunity," recently said Scuderia boss Mattia Binotto. "The hope is to be competitive and for me to be competitive is to be in the position of winning races.

"Would that mean that we can fight for a championship? If I look at today, the gap is still big. But as Ferrari, it’s part of our DNA.

"What is important is to be capable of fighting at least in some races for pole and for the win.

"That is the simple consequence of continuous growth and improvement. I would be disappointed if we have not improved from this year."

In its bid to return to the front of the grid, Ferrari has left no stone unturned in the development of its 2022 car and its power unit, both of which will feature a lot of "innovation".

"If I look at the 2022 car, and the 2022 power unit, believe me there is a lot of innovation in it," explained Binotto.

"I think that the way that the entire engineering team has faced the new design, the new project, and the 2022 regulations, which were a big discontinuity, was certainly with a more open mind than before.

"I can myself measure it by looking at the car itself, the way it's progressing, and certainly with the amount of innovation we put in it."

On the commercial side, Ferrari has revived its partnership with global banking giant Santander, with the Spanish financial institution no doubt lured back into F1 by the presence at the Scuderia of Carlos Sainz.

Santander's return could mark the end of Ferrari's historic commercial relationship with Philip Morris, whose contract with the Scuderia expired at the end of 2021.
