Ferrari adds new PU elements to Leclerc's hardware!

Even before the lights have gone out for Sunday's opening race in Bahrain, Ferrari has opted to replace two components on Charles Leclerc's power unit.

The Scuderia has added a new energy store and control electronics to Leclerc's pool of hardware.

The Monegasque qualified third on Saturday for the Bahrain Grand Prix, but there were no indications of any engine issues in the Italian outfit's camp after the evening session.

However, after a thorough analysis, Ferrari's engineers were not entirely happy with what they saw when they looked at the parameters.

They have subsequently decided to replace the two elements that were under scrutiny as a precautionary measure.

Both components were replaced with the approval of the FIA's technical delegate Jo Bauer.

As a reminder, each driver is allowed two Energy Stores and two Control Electronics for the season, while only three Internal Combustion Engines are authorized.
