Max Verstappen enjoyed a lights-to-flag triumph in the Monaco Grand Prix, but it was anything but a straightforward affair for the Red Bull driver whose commanding lead was challenged by the elements in the final stages of the event.

Still it was a well-deserved 39th career win in Formula 1 for the championship leader.
