Charles Leclerc's one-off race-worn 2023 Monaco Grand Prix helmet was auctioned off at a record price this week, with the proceeds donated to those affected by the recent flooding in Emilia-Romagna.
Leclerc partnered with RM Sotheby's for his personal initiative that included four lots comprising his Monaco Grand Prix helmet, race suit, gloves, and boots, all of which were signed by the Ferrari charger.
The red and white design of the Monegasque's special lid was inspired by the helmet worn by his late father, Hervé Leclerc, who became the first member of the Leclerc family to race in the streets of Monte-Carlo.
As the center-piece of the auction, Leclerc's helmet reached a whopping €306,000 euros, a value that shattered the previous record set by the sale in 2019 of a helmet worn in 1990 by F1 legend Ayrton Senna that fetched €162,000.
Overall, the aggregate sale of the four lots donated by Leclerc reached a cool €429,600!
