Carlin name disappears from the grid as Rodin completes rebrand

After a rich 25-year history in British and international motorsport, the Carlin name that graced the tracks of various racing disciplines is now a thing of the past.

The team founded by Trevor Carlin from which emerged the likes of F1 stars Lando Norris and George Russell and which honed the skills of so many young drivers was rebranded Rodin Carlin for 2023 following the significant investment made by Aussie billionaire David Dicker.

However, the name change was but a placeholder ahead of the departure of Trevor Carlin in late 2023.

The team has now undergone a complete rebrand, shedding its former identity and embracing the moniker of Rodin Motorsport.

Despite the change in name, the spirit of Carlin will hopefully continue to reside within the team, as it remains a force to be reckoned with in the FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2 championships.

The Farnham-based squad will compete in the latter with Red Bull junior Zane Maloney and Super Formula champion Ritomo Miyata

The rebranding of Carlin to Rodin Motorsport signifies a new chapter in the team's long history, marking a fresh start under new ownership while preserving the legacy of one of British motorsport's most respected names.

Team founder Trevor Carlin with new owner David Dicker.

“I am thrilled to lead Rodin Motorsport in this new era of our racing history,” commented team owner David Dicker.

“The team have a tremendous racing pedigree which we will continue to build upon moving forward.

“The 2024 season is once again going to be an exciting year for everyone at Rodin Motorsport and I for one can’t wait to get back on track where we belong.

“Our core values remain the same and we continue to strive to be the leading junior motorsport team.

“Our commitment to the drivers, championships and staff remains unwavering; we are here to race, develop drivers and keep winning.”

In addition to its F3 and F2 endeavors, Rodin Motorsport competes in GB3, the British and Spanish F4 championships, F1 Academy, and operates Lewis Hamilton’s X44 Extreme E team.
