The Apple Originals film dedicated to Formula 1 and starring Brad Pitt, which is currently still in production, will be entitled ‘F1’.
The highly anticipated movie, which is set for a June 2025 release, boasts a star-studded cast and production crew, fueled by the passion of its high-profile co-producer Lewis Hamilton.
The seven-time F1 World Champion isn't just cheering from the sidelines for this project; he has been lending his expertise and enthusiasm to ensure authenticity.
Directed by the visionary Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick") and produced by the legendary Jerry Bruckheimer ("Top Gun"), ‘F1’ promises to be a thrilling cinematic experience.
On location filming took place at several races last season, and with production delays caused by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike now a thing of the past, work has resumed, with Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt and his co-star Damson Idris present on site at Silverstone this weekend.
‘F1’ will capture the true essence of Grand Prix racing by incorporating footage shot across the globe, from the iconic Suzuka track to upcoming races in Hungary, Belgium, Mexico, Las Vegas, and the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Pitt steps into the role of Sonny Hayes, a seasoned driver lured back to the competitive world of F1. He'll have his hands full mentoring his rookie teammate, Joshua Pearce, played by Idris, as they race for the fictional APXGP team.
Adding to the film's realism, all 10 official F1 teams and their drivers are set to make appearances, further blurring the lines between reality and the big screen.
While the epic will roar into theaters internationally on June 25 2025, the film’s first official teaser will be released during the British Grand Prix, on Sunday 14:33 UK time (GMT +1).
