Magnussen: 'Everything on the table’ regarding motorsport future

Kevin Magnussen is pondering his motorsport future, and admits that “everything is on the table” when it comes to where he'll be racing next.

Haas confirmed ahead of last month’s Belgian Grand Prix that Esteban Ocon would be racing alongside Oliver Bearman at the US outfit in 2025, which automatically signified Magnussen’s exit.

While Magnussen has expressed a desire to remain in Formula 1, he is realistic about the challenges ahead.

Three F1 teams – Audi, Alpine and RB – have yet to confirm their lineups for next season, but none are believed to have earmarked Magnussen as a potential contender, leaving the Dane to investigate viable opportunities in other categories of racing, such as IndyCar and the World Endurance Championship.

"I think everything is on the table in that case,” he said at Spa, before F1’s summer break. “So, yeah, it's hard to... I'll see what's available out there and make my mind when I get there.

“Right now, I'm in Formula 1 and there's still a couple of seats open for next year that I'd like to see where all that ends up, and then look at things afterwards."

Despite his impending departure, Magnussen remains committed to Haas for the remainder of the 2024 season, with ten races to go.

The team is in the midst of a strong season and currently sits seventh in F1’s Constructors' championship.

"I hope we can keep this good trend going in the latter half of 2024," Magnussen said.

The Dane's future remains unclear, but his versatility and experience make him a potential asset to front-running teams in various motorsport categories.

For now, his focus remains on delivering strong results for Haas before making a decision about his next steps.
