Six drivers and McLaren team summoned to Baku stewards!

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix stewards have initiated investigations into incidents involving six drivers and the McLaren team after Sunday’s race in Baku.

Max Verstappen - who finished fifth, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, and Nico Hulkenberg are all under investigation for a potential Virtual Safety Car (VSC) infringement.

The inquiry relates to whether these drivers overtook others after the chequered flag while the track was still under VSC conditions.

The VSC was deployed on the penultimate lap following a collision between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez. Lewis Hamilton mentioned over the radio that he saw Hulkenberg overtaking him and other drivers during this period.

Furthermore, McLaren is under investigation for a potential breach of pit lane regulations.

The stewards are investigating whether the team had personnel and equipment in the pit lane at a time when they were not permitted, violating the rule that restricts team presence in the pit lane to when they are actively working on a car.
