Four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost was reportedly injured during a violent burglary at his residence in Switzerland earlier this week, according to Swiss media reports.
The incident is said to have taken place at Prost’s villa in Nyon, a town near Lake Geneva, where masked intruders allegedly forced their way into the property.
The 71-year-old former driver is understood to have sustained a minor head injury during a confrontation with the attackers.
Swiss newspaper Blick reports that Prost’s son was allegedly coerced at gunpoint or under threat to open the family safe during the raid. The exact amount of property or valuables taken has not yet been confirmed.
Authorities in Switzerland are said to have launched a large-scale manhunt immediately after the incident, deploying specialist dog units and forensic teams to track the suspects. French law enforcement agencies were also alerted amid concerns that the perpetrators may have crossed the border.
Investigators are currently examining all possibilities as the search continues across the region.
While the financial losses remain unclear, several reports have pointed to Prost’s long-standing association with luxury watchmaker Richard Mille, whose timepieces can reach extremely high values on the collector’s market.
According to Blick, Prost has since left Switzerland and returned to Dubai, where he also resides part of the year.
The case comes amid growing concern over a rise in home invasions targeting wealthy residents in the Lake Geneva region. Swiss reports cited by the outlet suggest that 18 similar incidents were recorded in Geneva alone in 2025, highlighting an escalating security issue in the area.
