Mercedes' F1 money machine delivers another big payday

Mercedes finished runner-up to McLaren in the 2025 F1 Constructors’ Championship, but the Brackley squad was second to none in terms of its financial success last year.

Fresh regulatory filings reveal that the Silver Arrows turned its 2025 campaign into a major commercial triumph, translating its ambitions on the track into substantial rewards for the company and its shareholders.

And with the team now charging toward the 2026 F1 Constructors' Championship crown, its winning streak of profitability is likely only accelerating.

Commercial might and lucrative payouts

Official documents lodged at the UK’s Companies House show that Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Limited pulled in a massive £633.4 million over the course of 2025.

This ticked slightly higher than the previous year's figures, anchored heavily by a phenomenal commercial apparatus that drew upwards of £415 million purely from marketing alliances, sponsorships, and licensing.

This revenue engine drove the post-tax profit up to £125.9 million – improving upon the £116.9 million banked in 2024.

Meanwhile, the leadership team's preferred barometer of success, operating profit, reached £166.7 million.

Thanks to rigorous budget management and strict adherence to financial ceilings, the board was able to reward backers handsomely. A hefty £125 million dividend was distributed directly to the shareholders, stepping up significantly from the £100 million returned the year prior.

Expanding portfolios and future infrastructure

Mercedes’ commercial allure continues to turn heads across the global corporate sphere. The 2025 campaign welcomed 24 distinct team partners, highlighted by high-profile arrivals such as adidas, Meta AI, and Nasdaq.

The momentum rolled straight into the opening quarter of 2026 with the additions of Microsoft, Nu, and Zuma.

Mercedes shareholders, Toto Wolff and George Kurtz.

Interestingly, even though a thrilling title scrap featuring rivals McLaren captured the lion's share of television broadcast attention last year, Mercedes' robust brand magnetism proved that winning screen time is only one piece of the puzzle.

Beyond the commercial partnerships, the outfit expanded its inner circle last November when CrowdStrike chief executive George Kurtz secured a minority co-ownership slice via Toto Wolff's investment vehicle.

Physical growth is matching financial health as well, with construction on two brand-new facilities at the Brackley headquarters slated for completion before the end of 2026.

Now, with the team standing firmly on the brink of capturing the 2026 World Championship, Mercedes is braced for yet another golden harvest – proving that the German outfit remains an unmatched powerhouse both on the track and on the balance sheet.
