Red Bull Racing has stepped up its late-season development push by unveiling a fresh suite of technical modifications for the RB22 ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix.
Fresh from claiming victories in two of the previous three rounds, the squad stands as the sole front-running outfit bringing performance-oriented developments to the high-altitude Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
To combat the thin atmospheric conditions characteristic of Mexico City, most competitors have fitted extra cooling louvres to their machinery. Red Bull has similarly adapted its package by deploying a re-engineered engine cover designed to maximize thermal extraction across the radiators.
Beyond these altitude-specific cooling provisions, Red Bull's performance updates focus on aerodynamic optimization.
The team has introduced modified sidepod profiling alongside an altered floor-to-sidepod split line.
Designed to integrate with the existing sidepod layout, these changes refine airflow beneath the radiator inlet, targeting localized downforce gains while preserving vehicle balance.
Red Bull remains eager to maintain the upward trajectory of its RB22, a package that rivals already regard as a current reference point following Max Verstappen's convincing drives in Malaysia and Singapore.
Across the pit lane, the only other performance update comes courtesy of Audi, which has equipped its R26 with a revised rear corner and updated brake duct deflector.
Despite his recent strong form, four-time World Champion Max Verstappen enters the weekend sitting fourth in the Drivers' Championship – trailing Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton by five points and Mercedes driver George Russell by six.
However, the Dutchman made it clear that finishing runner-up in the individual standings holds little appeal.
Instead, Verstappen's primary focus centers on the battle for third place in the Constructors' Championship, where Red Bull is currently locked in a tight tie with McLaren on 355 points.
Verstappen emphasized that the team's collective focus rests entirely on securing third place in the team standings, noting that anything short of victory in the championship chase holds little significance for him personally.
