Valterri Bottas headed to Indonesia earlier this week to recover from the neuralgic pains which sidelined the Finn at Melbourne's 2015 season opener.

The Williams driver has been slowly but surely getting better, sparing no effort to ensure his competitive return to racing at Sepang, with the assistance of a physiotherapist and his personal trainer Antti Vierula.

"Valtteri flew on to Indonesia where he had always planned to be ahead of the Malaysian GP to help acclimatise to the hot and humid conditions whilst also adjusting to the timezone ahead of the race," said Claire Williams to Autosport.

In the likely event that Bottas makes a full recovery, he will however require a green light from the FIA medical team before taking to the Malaysian track.

Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat also reported that it's likely Bottas will require surgery at the end of the year.
