Nico Rosberg has revealed he uses a woman's sanitary towel to help him deal with the heat in the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The race at Sepang often takes place in hot and humid conditions and is known to be a physical challenge for the drivers. Rosberg says he struggles with sweat getting in to his eyes and has taken an unusual approach to dealing with the problem.

"I have an issue with my eye when I sweat a lot so that is what the headband is for [when I train]," Rosberg told Sky Sports News. "Actually I do have sort of a headband in my helmet, it is my trick, but I can say it, why not?

"I put a woman's ... erm ... what do you call them? The thing you put in your underwear."

When it was put to Rosberg that he was trying to describe a sanitary towel, he replied: "Sanitary towel, that's what it's called? So I put that on my forehead in my helmet to take up the sweat!"
