Formula E's Berlin round which will take place on June 10 has changed venues, departing from the inner city and returning to a revised track at the Tempelhof Airport.
Last year's race was held on a street circuit located on the famous Karl-Marx-Allee, but local authorities weren't apparently very keen on keeping a round of the full electric series in the city's landmark area.
The race has been salvaged however and will return to a revised, yet to be unveiled, layout at Templehof where the very first Berlin ePrix was staged in 2015.
"Motorsport with electric motors is an advertisement for innovative technologies and sustainable urban mobility," said Michael Müller, the governing mayor of Berlin.
"Electromobility is the key to environmentally friendly transport in the cities of the 21st century, including Berlin. I am therefore delighted that Formula E continues to take place here."
Formula E fans who have already purchased grandstand tickets for the Karl-Marx-Allee circuit will have their tickets relocated to a Category 1 grandstand at Tempelhof, and will also be given access to a special pit walk on race day.
Ticketmaster Germany will contact all ticket holders with further information once the grandstand configuration and pit walk timings are finalised for the new venue.
Formula E organisers have been having a few issues with venues lately with the Brussels cancelling its ePrix recently following mobility concerns expressed by residents to the local government.
While the Belgian race currently remains on the official FE calendar, it appears more likely to be delayed by a year as organisers identify another suitable venue.
