Mercedes recruit Valtteri Bottas has confirmed that he will work with Tony Ross, who race-engineered Nico Rosberg to the 2016 Formula 1 title.
The Finn has joined the German manufacturer from Williams in replacement of the reigning champion, who stunned the F1 community by announcing his retirement from the sport mere days after sealing the crown.
“My engineer will be Tony Ross; who used to be Nico Rosberg's race engineer,” Bottas told Finnish newspaper Ilta Sanomat.
Having started his F1 career at Williams in 1997, Ross worked with the likes of Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Nick Heidfeld before assisting Rosberg, whom he followed to Mercedes.
