21 years ago today, Roland Ratzenberger lost his life during qualifying for the San Marino Grand Prix. Ratzenberger crashed heavily at Villeneuve Corner on the same weekend Ayrton Senna was killed at Imola. The talented Austrian was in his first season of Formula One, having signed a five-race deal to drive for Simtek. He was 33.
