In these very difficult times for the Bianchi family, we must spare a thought for Jules’ grandfather Mauro, who had already lost his brother Lucien to racing when the latter died during the 1969 Le Mans Test Day. Having himself suffered a heavy crash in the 1968 instalment of the French classic, Mauro was nonetheless very proud to see his grandson carry on the family tradition. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mauro.
