Prior to Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix, the last time there was no Mercedes driver on the podium stretched back to the 2013 season finale in Brazil, with recently crowned four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel beating Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber on the day of his his swan song, and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso securing third.
