This might have been lost amidst Lewis Hamilton’s latest dominant win, Sebastian Vettel’s tyre drama and Romain Grosjean’s emotional return to the podium, but Toro Rosso rookie Max Verstappen drove another cracking race from P18 to P8. Carving his way up through the field, the 17-year-old made a few of what is rapidly becoming trademark overtaking manoeuvres. The finest move came at the very high-speed Blanchimont turn, where the Dutchman just kept his foot on the gas around the outside of Sauber’s Felipe Nasr before making it stick on the subsequent Bus Stop Chicane. Riveting!
