While the Brazilian, who enjoyed 98 Grand Prix starts in his career, isn't exactly remembered for racing as if his pants were on fire, he came close to doing just that in the 1996 Grand Prix of Argentina.
A fuel-valve which remained open after a pit-stop by the Ligier driver was the source of the sudden blaze, forcing Diniz into a rapid and scary escape.
British newspaper The Sun printed the photo alongside the infamous headline "Diniz in the Oven".
