Even retired F1 racers get a summer break

Technically, Jenson Button isn't retired as he still retains his McLaren employment and can be called upon to replace either McLaren driver at short notice, as was the case earlier this year at Monaco.

So we guess he's also entitled to a summer break. Which is why the 37-year-old escaped to the beautiful Amalfi Coast in Italy with girlfriend Brittny Ward.

The couple indulged in some enthusiastic smooches and documented their romantic adventure on Instagram.

Jenson will be back in the driver's seat at the end of the month however when he joins Team Mugen team mates Hideki Mutoh and Daisuke Nakajima in the Suzuka 1000km race.

Button will be racing a Honda NSX-GT in the 46th and last running of the Japanese event.
