James Simon Wallis Hunt would have been seven decades young today, and what a treat it would be to hear his views on today's Formula 1.
The handsome, womanizing, rebellious 1976 world champion has gone down in history, not only as an astonishing talent, but also as one of the sport's most emblematic figures along with Niki Lauda, Hunt's arch-rival and the other half of a duo defined as much by its triumphs as it was by its tragedies.
Hunt left Formula 1 in 1979, with the season in full swing, uncompetitive and depressed. He left behind an illustrious career which included 93 Grand prix starts, 10 victories and a world title.
