Ferrari goes topless with £1m supercar stunner!

Whatever their form on the race track, there's no denying that Ferrari knows how to produce the goods on the road.

The Italian manufacturer this week unveiled its new £1 million limited edition Monza supercar, which is described as the most powerful road car ever made without a roof.

Available in both one- and two-seat models, Ferrari promises that the new car is like driving in Formula 1. In terms of how it looks, the Monza clearly harks back to iconic racers of the past including the 1948 166 MM, as well as the 750 and 860 Monza.

The latest car was unveiled in a private viewing held at Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello on Tuesday. However within minutes grainy smartphone pictures had been leaked online, forcing Ferrari to go public with these glossy photos.

According to reports, only 500 will be built. The SP1 is described as an "uncompromising single-seat road car" while the SP2 allows the owner to take passenger with them for the ride of a lifetime and adds an additional protective screen and a second roll-bar.

At the heart of the car is a 810hp 6.5-litre V12, an upgraded version of the same engine used in the 812 Superfast. Ferrari says that it can go from 0 to 62mph in 2.9s, and will reach 124mph in just 7.9s.
