One year ago on this date, Lewis Hamilton threw away a surefire victory when he pitted from the lead during a late Safety Car period and exited behind team-mate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. Mercedes later apologised for the mistakes with Toto Wolff admitting ‘we got our numbers wrong’. Hamilton, for his part, was clearly not impressed during the podium ceremony.
